Colonist who fought on the side of the British

    Is it true that 1/3 of the Colonist that were apposed to the American Revolution mostly came from the South? I heard a radio host state that most of the dissenters came from Charleston, SC.

    There were large numbers of Loyalists in Upcountry South Carolina, the Hudson River Valley of New York, and the large cities of New York and Philadelphia.
